Prove your marketing’s worth

Leads-first reporting that connects your organic and AI search investment directly to pipeline.

Business intelligence aligned with your goals

Every dollar you invest in SEO and GEO should tie back to metrics your board recognizes: leads, pipeline, revenue. We track our results against your goals and use data to inform the next actions in our organic growth strategy.

Our approach to business intelligence

  • We speak the language your execs trust — conversions and pipeline, not clicks and impressions
  • We account for the AI attribution gap, so the influence AI answers create before a click ever happens doesn’t go missing from your numbers
  • We separate real signal from noise, so a seasonal dip or algorithm update doesn’t get mistaken for a strategy failure
  • We build reporting your board can act on, and every report ends with what we’re doing next
  • We show you which channels produce leads, so your budget decisions are based on attribution, not guesswork

Reporting your board will trust

Leads versus goal, in plain English — the number every stakeholder can act on.

Tracking that tells the truth

We audit and fix broken analytics, so every decision is based on data you can rely on.

One watchlist, every channel

See organic, AI citations, and paid performance together, so budget conversations start from evidence.

Clarity on what’s working

Know which channel, page, and campaign produced each lead.

Turning data into decisions

Rankings and clicks from organic search results still matter, but they’ve never told the whole story. AI answers are widening that gap further, shaping buyer decisions before they ever land on your site.

This is the gap our tracking and attribution are built to close, and what feeds our Decision Engine every month, surfacing the opportunities most worth acting on and the areas where SEO and GEO effort will do the most good.

That’s why our business intelligence work operates inside OrganicIQ™, one system that connects tracking across SEO, AI citations, content marketing, and paid search. You get the clearest view available of what’s producing results, so you see your organic growth over time.

Business intelligence isn’t a standalone service — it’s one part of our proprietary OrganicIQ system.

OrganicIQ ensures you’re visible wherever buyers search.

Learn how

Struggling with these marketing analytics and reporting challenges?

If any of these sound familiar, you’re not alone:

  • Google Analytics, your ad platforms, and your CRM all show different numbers, and you’re never quite sure which one to trust
  • By the time your SEO report arrives, the window to act on what it shows has already passed
  • Rankings look fine, but traffic keeps slipping — a sign more searches are getting answered by AI before buyers click through
  • Your analytics have quietly broken at some point, and no one caught it until the numbers stopped making sense
  • You don’t have a clear benchmark for what “good” actually looks like for a business your size, in your industry

Marketing analytics shouldn’t be a mystery you have to take on faith. We build tracking and reporting that shows you exactly what’s working, so every decision is backed by data you can trust.

Why choose SMA as your organic growth agency

SMA has been helping businesses win in search since 2015. Our founder, Ryan Shelley, has spent over a decade specializing in SEO and content marketing, and began applying AI and language models to search strategy back in 2021 — developing proprietary tools to optimize, measure, and track AI search performance along the way. That depth of experience in SEO and GEO means we understand not just how search works today, but how it’s evolved and where it’s heading next.

Why is measuring SEO and AI search harder than it used to be?

Because a lot of the influence that used to happen after a click now happens before one. When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a recommendation and reads a synthesized answer, that interaction shapes their decision, but rarely shows up in your analytics as a visit, a session, or a conversion event. Traditional attribution was built for a world where clicks were the starting point; increasingly, they’re the last step in a decision that started somewhere your dashboard can’t see.

That’s exactly what our business intelligence work is built to close. We track AI-referred traffic where it does show up, watch citation activity across platforms as a leading indicator of influence that isn’t fully click-trackable yet, and report both alongside your traditional numbers. You’re working from the most complete picture available, not just the part that’s easy to measure.

What is included in a monthly marketing report?

Every OrganicIQ report opens with the number that matters most: your leads versus your goal, in an easy-to-understand format. From there, it shows exactly which channels produced those leads (organic, AI search, and paid, if you’re running it), tracked back to real business events like calls, form fills, and booked meetings, not just clicks or sessions.

You’ll also see your AI citation share and the cited domains of tracked prompts, so you know where your AI presence is coming from. Beyond organic traffic and referral traffic from AI tools, you’ll see performance tracked over time, along with your growth actions for the month (the specific, prioritized moves we made based on where the data showed the biggest opportunity) and the results of the growth actions executed in the previous months.

What’s the difference between leading and lagging indicators in marketing?

Lagging indicators tell you what already happened (leads, closed deals, revenue). They’re the numbers that matter most, but by the time you see them, the window to influence that specific result has already closed. Leading indicators tell you what’s likely to happen next (citation growth, ranking movement, or engagement trends) so you can act before a dip or a win shows up in the lagging numbers.

We track both, because relying on lagging indicators alone means always looking in the rearview mirror. Watching leading indicators lets us catch a problem, or an opportunity, early enough to actually do something about it, which is exactly what feeds into the Growth Actions in your monthly report.
